Sri Hanuman is considered to be the son of the mighty Pavan Devata. About this, I have no doubt whatsoever! At the time when Pujya Gurudev chose the site of the Sidhbari ashram, the wind used to create havoc by relentlessly storming the area. Consequently, the land all around was bleak, barren and bereft of any trees. Observing the play of the wind god, Gurudev decided to erect a huge statue of Sri Hanuman, firmly stating, ‘Now, Pavan Devata would come gently to embrace his son!’This is the story of how Hanuman came to be seated in Sidhbari, in veerasana. His presence is both benign and mighty as he looks at Bharat, ever ready to rise, fight against all evil and lower tendencies and protect our ancient Bharatiya culture. Before he arrived, everyone was despondent, wondering how anything would ever grow in the ashram. Look at it now! It is a biological paradise with hundreds of species of plants from around the world, thriving in it. It is said that when a Mahätma resides in a place, everything is at peace. In fact, nature remains at his feet—and transforms itself! After the installation of the statue, Gurudev predicted, ‘Now that Hanuman has come, his Master Sri Ram, Mother Sita and Lakshman will follow.’ And so it was. Sri Hanuman made it possible.
