All India Chinmaya Yuva Kendra (AICHYK) is conducting the 13th batch of the Youth Empowerment Programme (YEP) at Chinmaya Vibhooti, Kolwan, Maharashtra, India. YEP 13 was inaugurated on 16th August 2022.
The Yuvaveers of YEP 13 welcomed Swami Anukoolananda (National Convenor, AICHYK) and Swami Swatmananda (Facilitator, YEP) with the traditional Poorna Kumbha. Yuvaveer Shruthi Shetty from Mulund chanted the sannyasa suktam mantras. It was followed by the lighting of the lamp by both the Swamis and Trishna Gulrajani (COO, Chinmaya Vibhooti). Yuvaveer Indumati chanted the shlokas. Yuvaveer Amrutha (from Thane) was the MC for the event. Yuvaveers Yamini (from Bengaluru) and Mahalakshmi (from Chennai) invoked the grace of Lord Ganesha, Mother Saraswati, the Guru Parampara and Swami Chinmayananda through an invocation. Yuvaveers Simpi (Guwahati), Sital (Nepal) and Kabita (Sikkim) felicitated Swami Anukoolananda and Swami Swatmananda with the Assamese gamcha.
Swami Swatmananda began his address with a video-extract of Swami Chinmayananda wherein Pujya Gurudev speaks about creating the leaders of tomorrow who have not only the mental sagacity to face challenges with heroism and courage, but also a great vision. He explained that despite the short notice at which the course was started, 43 applications were received and 25 students were selected. Fifteen of them finally confirmed to join the programme while nine of them had arrived for the inauguration. The rest would join within a few days after completing their final UG exams. He congratulated them and thanked the parents who had sent their children to serve the country exclusively for one year.
This was followed by an Assamese dance form, Bihu, performed by the Yuvaveers. After the performance, a video message from Swami Swaroopananda (Global Head, Chinmaya Mission) for the incumbent Yuvaveers, was played. Swamiji urged the youth to study well and serve with a balanced attitude, where one neither becomes hopeless that individuals cannot do anything nor does one think that one is going to change the whole world. He wished the Yuvaveers all success in their pursuits.
Swami Mitrananda (Conceiver and Implementer of YEP) sent his audio message. He highlighted that since the batch is small, they are at an advantage, as personal attention can be given to each one by the faculties. He encouraged the Yuvaveers to learn, serve and grow, as the motto of the programme declares.
Thereafter, the Yuvaveers shared their purpose as to why they joined YEP 13.
Swami Anukoolananda addressed the Yuvaveers about the importance of overcoming struggles as a motto in life. He appreciated the Yuvaveers for having a purpose and emphasised being available to learn and transform.
Books and bags were distributed to the Yuvaveers. The event concluded with prayers sung by Yuvaveers Simpi and Yamini. The following is the list of Yuvaveers who have joined.
