Where our goals or priorities genuinely oppose one another, a choice must be made. There will be certain things you cannot do, such as be a monk and be married at the same time. You can meditate, have peace and be married, but you cannot be both a monk and a married man. A choice must be made. You can have what you want, but you cannot have everything you want.
If you are going to achieve your goals in life, you have to learn to sacrifice certain things. Develop that capacity. Both ancient and modern books on success indicate the importance of tyaga (sacrifice). To gain something you may have to give up something else. You will require the strength of renunciation.
