Data Ethics- I

Data Ethics- I

Data ethics encompasses the moral obligation of collecting, generating, analysing and disseminating data with the right methodology. Millions of businesses across the world collect thousands of data points daily. All this data needs to be stored in a data warehouse and processed to make meaningful analysis of it.

There are no data companies anymore. Every company is essentially a data company dealing with some amount of data. Without proper data ethics in place, it is easy for data to be misused. To prevent data misuse, a set of principles can be applied, collectively addressed as data ethics.

Ethical use of data is an everyday effort that gives a feeling of safety of the subjects whose data is being handled. Writing algorithms that effectively avoid any bias is the key to data ethics.
