Aries (Mar 21 - Apr 20)
Did you strive towards your goal this week? Were you able to do all that you had planned? Why not? What got in the way of your goal this week? It is immensely useful to take stock every week of your to-do list in terms of your goal. That helps one to identify the obstacles, the challenges, and the achievements (even if they are small) and set the course for the following week.
Taurus (Apr 21 - May 21)
Lately you have been going through your days, with your mind racing through thousands of thoughts. If you stop and observe you will realise that most of those thoughts were repetitive not just through the day, but over the week. And worse still—they were unproductive thoughts. Set an alarm to stop and observe your thoughts thrice a day to live with more awareness.
Gemini (May 22 - Jun 21)
Whatever we practise, is what we master. Whatever we do more of, is what we get good at. What is it that you practise? Do you practise patience? Peace? Joy? Anger? Jealousy? Insecurity? Creativity? Gratitude? Become aware of what you practise. Consciously practise those that you want to strengthen and drop the rest.
Cancer (Jun 22 - Jul 23)
The company we keep profoundly affects how we think and feel. No wonder our parents always scrutinised who our friends were. Besides people, what keeps us company all the time are our thoughts. What thoughts are those that you carry everywhere with you? Are they doing you good? Are they helping you grow?
Leo (July 24 - Aug 23)
‘Drop it’—make that your mantra this month. Drop every unnecessary thought, every action that takes you away from your goal, every task that does not add value to your life, and every person that breeds negativity. If you think about it, you will find a lot of things to drop. Write ‘Drop it!’ in big and put it up where you will see it first thing in the morning.
Virgo (Aug 24 - Sep 23)
Everyone talks about the importance of exercise and physical health. What is equally or more important is mental health. Try to speak to someone you trust. Share your feelings about everything that is weighing you down and unburden yourself. If you are not comfortable speaking to a known person, seek the help of a counsellor. They are bound by the professional confidentiality clause.
Libra (Sep 24 - Oct 23)
The river’s current, flow, water level etc. is not in our hands. But we can learn to swim well and build a boat that can withstand all pressures and strains in order to go across safely and with minimum disturbances. It is the same with life. We cannot change all our circumstances, the people in our lives or the situations we are in. What we can do is build our mental strength to deal effectively with all that life throws at us.
Scorpio (Oct 24 - Nov 23)
Make the most of every moment you have been given. Live it completely. We are so caught up in our screens, that time flies by and we do not even realise how much time we have lost until it is too late. Why wait for that rude shock and regret the time lost? Instead, utilise the time at hand right now.
Sagittarius Nov 24 - Dec 21)
All experiences are temporary, irrespective of whether we like them or not. The liked ones and the unliked ones are both timebound. Enjoy the pleasurable ones, and face the unpleasant ones bravely. Keep in mind what Sri Krishna says in the second chapter of the Bhagavad Gita: This too shall pass away.
Capricorn (Dec 22 - Jan 20)
A true leader creates more leaders. A true leader inspires and lifts others. Being a leader does not mean bullying and having your way no matter what. It is about giving your team time, understanding them and taking them along. Insisting on only your way or the highway is a sign of dictatorship, not leadership.
Aquarius (Jan 21 - Feb 19)
Rise to the occasion instead of cowing down with anxiety or running away with fright. Challenges come our way to test our strengths and build our skills and resilience. Do you have in you what it takes to be a winner? Can you overcome obstacles, and change course if need be while keeping the goal in sight? Think.
Pisces (Feb 20 - Mar 20)
What is pleasurable is not necessarily good. What is good may not necessarily be enjoyable. If self-growth is our goal, we need to do what is good—pleasurable or not—and avoid that which is detrimental and takes us away from our goal even if it is attractive and enjoyable. It all depends on how important your goal is to you.
