Aries (Mar 21 - Apr 20)

What we say, why we say and how we say has a tremendous effect on us and the receiver as well. It sets the tone for the reactions to follow. This month practice these three—satyam vada: Speak the truth, be authentic; priyam vada: Speak with compassion and love; hitam vada: Whatever you say, make sure it is beneficial to all/the listener.

Taurus (Apr 21 - May 21)

Of course, there are a million things that are not going your way. And a hundred ways in which life could have been better. You are acutely aware of all that’s lacking in your life. Are you aware of your blessings? Even at the worst of times, there are things that we can be grateful for. Being aware of those helps us to act from a feeling of abundance, and that makes us more positive and productive.

Gemini (May 22 - Jun 21)

Here’s an apt thought for you from Swami Sivananda, ‘A mountain is composed of tiny grains of earth. The ocean is made up of tiny drops of water. Even so, life is but an endless series of little details, actions, speeches and thoughts. And the consequences, whether good or bad of even the least of them, are far-reaching’. Need I say more?

Cancer (Jun 22 - Jul 23)

React to others the way you would like them to react to you. If you wait for others to behave in a particular way before you do so yourself, you will most likely be waiting forever! If others are rude or unfriendly, don’t take that as the cue for your behaviour. If you want them to be affectionate, you be affectionate towards them first. It’s up to you to set the tone for the relationship.

Leo (July 24 - Aug 23)

It’s natural to feel worried about doing something for fear of failing. When this happens, look back at similar situations that you feared but faced and overcame. Make a list of ten things that you feared in the past and what the outcome was thereafter. This will remind you of how confident and courageous you can be and what you are capable of when you act despite your fear.

Virgo (Aug 24 - Sep 23)

Feeling resentful or full of regret stands in the way of our growth to become all that we are capable of. Instead, take some time to think of all the people that you have unfinished business with. Connect with each person, speak your heart out and clear the air. Apologise or makeup if needed. If they are not receptive, know that you have done your best and move on.

Libra (Sep 24 - Oct 23)

Clearing out your workspace and bag somehow declutters our mind space too. Empty out your bag, remove the things you don’t need, get rid of the rubbish and reorganise what you need to retain. Same with your desk. File your papers, put the stationery in a mug, the pins in a box and so on. A neat workspace energises the mind and makes us productive.

Scorpio (Oct 24 - Nov 23)

When the going gets tough in any relationship, the confident and empathetic one focuses on the person’s good points and what binds them rather than what is driving them mad at that point. Support your loved one emotionally through the good times and bad. Every relationship has its tough moments. Every relationship requires its quota of effort.

Sagittarius Nov 24 - Dec 21)

Wake up! You are the master of your own destiny; of your thoughts, deeds and words. Nobody—not your parents, siblings, friends, teachers or bosses. Trust yourself and make your own decisions. Then follow through with those decisions. Nobody can make you feel, do or think what you don’t want to unless you let them. Take charge of your life. Stop the blame game.

Capricorn (Dec 22 - Jan 20)

Take stock of your life now and then. Standing back and analysing how you are spending your days, are you moving towards your goal, are you living up to your potential, are you wasting time in any way? Asking yourself some tough questions can give you a good idea of whether you are on track or there are things you need to change to reach your goals.

Aquarius (Jan 21 - Feb 19)

People are like mirrors of one another. We mostly get back what we put out there. The next time you find someone being rude or unkind, choose to respond differently. Look the person in the eye and speak with kindness. You’ll be surprised to see how the person is immediately put on the back foot and will be forced to respond more positively to your approach.

Pisces (Feb 20 - Mar 20)

As important as working on your mind and intellect is to work on your physical health. Without a healthy body, it is even more challenging to work towards our goals in life. Healthy does not mean muscular or a particular weight. It means being fit, having the energy to work, the ability to focus and stretch your limits. Squeeze in time for fitness and breathing exercises.
