Zestiny

Destiny is not a matter of chance but a matter of choice. It is not to be waited for or accepted passively but to be achieved aggressively. What we have, the circumstances we are born in, is destiny but what we do with what we have is in our hands. Strive to be a go-getter and leave nothing to chance.

Forget injuries, but never ever forget kindnesses. Remembering every small act of kindness helps us maintain a positive attitude. It can also kindle the helping flame within and start a chain reaction. Whatever good is done to you, pay it forward rather than paying it back.

Be yourself; everyone else is taken. When we are born unique, why die a mere shadow of someone else? No doubt, we can and often must look at others for inspiration and guidance, but in the end, we must be true to ourselves. Build your image, live your own life.

Ideas won't work unless 'you' do. Sitting with an idea without working on it is like having a cake and staring at it instead of eating it. Over time, it will be rendered useless or snatched by someone else. You won’t know whether the idea works unless you work on it. The least you can do is try.

Identify with excellence, put your name on your work, and both your work and your name will stand the test of time. Excellence should be the signature that identifies your work and makes it stand out amongst the rest. Settle for nothing less than excellence, and you will find success following you.

The circumstances of our lives and the people in them have as much power as we choose to give them. Don’t get upset with people and situations. They are powerless without your reaction. Your reaction strengthens them further. Instead, choose to keep your cool and act without getting ruffled.

It is only in fairy tales that the protagonists ‘live happily ever after’ effortlessly. In real life, it is only possible to live happily ever after if we choose to do so, on a day-to-day basis. Every moment we have a choice to be happy or upset–either way, the situation will remain the same. How we respond to it is in our hands.

Here’s something that I read recently – ‘Read, every day, something no one else is reading. Think, every day, something no one else is thinking. Do, every day, something no one else would be silly enough to do. It is bad for the mind to continually be part of unanimity’. Be different, be yourself.

In life, we can either do something about a situation or we cannot do something about a situation. If we can do something, we should and not stress about it, and if we cannot do something, we shouldn't and not stress about that either. Either way, the choice is ours. Choose wisely and save yourself the distress.

Procrastination is said to be attitude's natural assassin. There is nothing so fatiguing as an uncompleted task. As the list of unfinished jobs rises, so does our enthusiasm and fervour to work decline as the mountain of unfinished tasks looms menacingly over us.

Life is about the art of drawing without an eraser, so one needs to be careful while taking decisions about the most valuable pages of one’s life. Once a mark is made it remains forever, we can only modify it by adding to it, but the damage done is irreversible. Think well, sharpen your pencil and sketch away at the canvas of life!

Swimming with the tide is effortless but swimming against it needs directed effort. Don't simply go the way life takes you but steer your life in the direction that you want to go. Dare to be different. Choose your own path or make your own path; don’t merely settle for the beaten path because it’s easy.
