Aries (Mar 21 – Apr 20)

It’s not just the plants that need sunlight. All animals, including humans, need to soak in the sun at least for ten minutes every day. Besides ensuring that the body makes its required dose of Vitamin D which is essential for one’s health, it lifts one’s mood and makes us feel good. Also, it helps in healing all kinds of wounds.

Taurus (Apr 21 – May 21)

Don’t wait for ‘one day’ to work on your bucket list. Be regular in ticking off items at a considerable pace. Waiting for ‘one day’ is a huge risk for it may never happen and you will be left with regrets. Identify which ones can be taken care of soon and easily and start with those.

Gemini (May 22 – Jun 21)

Our living space is a reflection of our mind in general. A tidy room, with a place for everything and everything in its place, most likely belongs to a person who is organised and sorted. A messy room in all likelihood belongs to a person who does not believe in making plans or living an organised life. We can change how we feel, by changing the nature of our room.

Cancer (Jun 22 – Jul 23)

What’s your mantra for life? The one statement that you live by? If you don’t have one, take some time to write one for yourself. A life statement or vision statement gives direction to our life and inspires us to do things that are in line with it. It also helps us to face challenges and bide our time when the going gets tough.

Leo (Jul 24 – Aug 23)

March—the month of Holi, the time to celebrate spring. Holi reminds us of all that is positive and full of promise of growth and abundance. This would be an apt time to get started with the gratitude journal that you have been long putting off. Just grab a diary or a notepad and start jotting down everything that you feel grateful for.

Virgo (Aug 24 – Sep 23)

What you need is a brain dump. It’s nothing complicated. It simply means writing down everything that comes to your mind on a particular topic. It’s a way to get all of your thoughts and ideas down on paper which results in freeing up space in your brain. Though it sounds too simple to be true, you will be amazed at how effective it is.

Libra (Sep 24 – Oct 23)

Before you go to sleep, make a to-do list for the following day. This simple act will help you sleep better, both quantitatively and qualitatively. Often, the mind remains active thinking about the many things that we need to attend to. An active mind does not allow us to rest, even when asleep and we wake up feeling tired.

Scorpio (Oct 24 – Nov 23)

Inculcating the discipline to do elaborate sadhana may seem difficult or even impossible. But it is certainly doable to have one thing that we decide is uncompromisable. It may be as simple as chanting your favourite mantra eleven times or doing one round of the japa mala or reading a page from the Bhagavad Gita. Decide on your one task and do it without fail.

Sagittarius (Nov 24 – Dec 21)

‘If we always do, what we always did, we will always get, what we always got’. It’s a simple line that sums up the crux of our life. We expect a lot out of life, without wanting to put in what it takes. If you want your life to change, you have to first change what and how you do things. In computer lingo it is GIGO—Garbage in, Garbage out. Be aware of what it is that you are putting into life.

Capricorn (Dec 22 – Jan 20)

A few minutes in nature, once a week if not every day, will do wonders for you. Take a walk in the nearby park, go for a trek, go bird watching or sailing.. anything that takes you closer to nature. Nature heals. It calms and nurtures. It helps us slow down and relax the mind. It reminds us that there is more to life than just work and earning a livelihood. That is also living.

Aquarius (Jan 21 – Feb 19)

What new thing can I say about anger? You already know all about it and the disastrous effect of unbridled anger. But do you know anger can be good as well? Yes, it can be, if ‘used’ well. It is like acid—when handled the right way and for the right reasons, it can be extremely useful. The same acid when allowed to flow without caution can cause havoc.

Pisces (Feb 20 – Mar 20)

There is enough time actually. The problem is not lack of time but improper utilisation of time and unproductive use of time. Download an app that tracks usage of the mobile and its various apps and you will understand what I am saying. You will be surprised, as I was, to see how much time you spend (or waste) on useless scrolling.
