Dear Reader,

Our history books are filled with stories of heroic patriots, ones we must never forget. The ever-familiar image of Rani Manikarnika, later known as the Rani of Jhansi, with her child strapped to her body and battling it out during the Sepoy Mutiny of 1857 is iconic. However, can you imagine the efforts she must have put in to reach that place? We have a letter that carries a glimpse of the woman she was. Dive in and take inspiration from her words and deeds.

While on the topic of freedom, do read Swami Chinmayananda’s essay on how we can be detached from our own hang-ups to experience real liberation. Easier said than done, yes. It is to help us achieve such a state that the Masters have left us with a plethora of sadhanas to be adopted. Remembering Swamiji on this August 3rd, let us recommit to our sadhana sincerely.

This August, let us seek freedom both within and without.

Jai Hind! Vande Mataram!

Love,
