Dr. Madhuri Bharthwal is a folk singer and music composer from Uttarakhand. She was the first female music composer at All India Radio. Through her efforts, she has recorded and documented the works of lesser known musicians and artists. With over sixty years in broadcasting, composing and teaching, Dr. Bharthwal’s life has been dedicated to the preservation of music. She was awarded the Padma Shri in 2021.
