Sukri Bommagowda is a singer from the Halakki tribe of Karnataka. Based in Ankola district, she is recognised world over for preserving the culture and customs through the singing tradition. Bommagowda’s songs capture harmonious and colourful ways of tribal life. She was awarded the Padma Shri in 2018.
