Chinmaya Jhankaar, a vibrant musical tribute to Pujya Gurudev Swami Chinmayananda, was presented by Chinmaya Naada Bindu and Chinmaya Yuva Kendra (CHYK) Kolkata on 8 November 2025 at the GD Birla Sabhagar, Kolkata. Chinmaya Jhankar has had successful performances in Mumbai, Pune, and Kadapa in collaboration with the local CHYK centres, respectively. Hosted at the iconic GD Birla Sabhagar, the Kolkata edition was dedicated to supporting the Chinmaya Amara Sabai initiative, bringing together music, devotion, and purposeful seva. The presentation was a beautiful blend of vocals, instruments and dance.By Gurudev Swami Chinmayananda’s grace, a silent revolution in education is beginning to unfold in the Sundarbans, where the rhythm of rivers meets the dreams of children. What began as a humble initiative by Amara Sabai in the 1970s is now blossoming into a Chinmaya Vidyalaya, as Chinmaya Mission Kolkata carries this noble vision forward through Chinmaya Amara Sabai—a confluence of local commitment and spiritual purpose. The initiative aims to upgrade the existing village school in Kailaspur into a CBSE-affiliated Chinmaya Vidyalaya, rooted in the Chinmaya Vision Programme (CVP), offering value-based, English-medium education to underserved children of the region. Alongside this, CORD (Chinmaya Organisation for Rural Development) will strengthen community development by empowering women, improving livelihoods, and building resilience in this disaster-prone area. The funds raised through Chinmaya Jhankaar directly support this transformative work..This year’s Chinmaya Jhankaar also held special significance as it marked 50 years of Chinmaya Yuva Kendra (CHYK), founded by Pujya Gurudev to inspire youth to serve, grow, and lead with spiritual clarity. Over 50 Chyks from across India came together to present a powerful and harmonious production, embodying unity, discipline, and devotion. Curated by Chinmaya Naada Bindu, the 1.5-hour presentation blended soulful vocals, dynamic instrumental arrangements, and expressive choreography. Supported by a dedicated technical team, the production achieved a seamless balance of sound, movement, and visual storytelling, leaving the audience immersed in its devotional energy. CHYK Kolkata was blessed to have Swami Advaitananda and Swami Mitrananda grace the occasion and inspire everyone with their words of wisdom..The auditorium resonated with nostalgia and pride as senior Chyks and long-time Mission devoteees watched the next generation carry forward Gurudev’s legacy with sincerity and enthusiasm. The evening stood not just as a cultural offering, but as a reminder of the deeper purpose of art to uplift, to refine, and to inspire service.Chinmaya Jhankaar - Kolkata concluded with heartfelt gratitude, celebrating five decades of CHYK’s transformative journey and reaffirming Gurudev’s timeless call: Serve. Love. Give. Purify. Meditate. Realise.
