'With the lives of all the injured Vanaras and the fate of the war depending on his success, Hanuman set forth to complete the task as instructed by Jambavan. He first increased his size to resemble a huge mountain. He climbed on a hillock nearby which was crushed under his weight. He then jumped to Mount Malaya and from there he shot off with full speed towards the Himalayas. Drawn by his speed, rocks, and trees travelled along with him only to get dropped on the way as Hanuman flew higher and higher!''Wow VR! Just imagining this gives me goosebumps!' exclaimed Manav.'Hanuman passed many popular landmarks as he rushed to the Himalayas and landed near the hill containing all the precious herbs. The herbs that were initially glowing now suddenly disappeared from view. This was the mountain’s way to stop others from taking away its herbs. Hanuman was perplexed to see this as he could not identify any of the herbs.''So, Hanuman requested the mountain to help him?' asked Manav.'Had Hanuman tried that, there was no guarantee that it would have worked. Time was also something that was of the essence. Hanuman was asked to return before sunrise so he could not waste time anywhere. Thirdly, Hanuman felt annoyed at the mountain for its refusal to help Rama and so to teach it a lesson, he uprooted the entire hill and carried it with him to Lanka.''This is a very well-known act of Hanuman. A lot of Hanuman temples have him in this form only. I always thought that Hanuman did not know to recognise the herbs and so he took the hill with him and not that the hill hid the herbs from him', remarked Manav.'There are always a lot of misconceptions about many things in the Ramayana. Also, I am sharing the information from Valmiki Ramayana and there might be some differences in other versions of Ramayana as well’, clarified VR.'Gotcha! Please continue VR!''As Hanuman arrived in Lanka, the mere smell of the herbs revived most of the Vanaras as well as Ram and Lakshman. Interestingly, the Rakshasa soldiers were not revived by this because Ravana had ordered his soldiers to be thrown into the ocean once they became incapable of battle, so that the dead soldiers would not boost the morale of the enemy. As a result, they did not get revived!''Whoa! Such a cruel guy, this Ravana. I can't believe some people still idolise him.''Once everyone was revived, Hanuman once again took back the hill to the Himalayas and came back to join the battle!''This is incredible, VR! How much Hanuman achieved single-handedly is amazing!', wondered Manav.'Well, according to Hanuman, he never achieved anything single-handedly, it was all the grace and blessings of his Bhagwan Rama. Even before jumping off from the hill, Hanuman first offered his obeisance to Rama and sought his blessings even as he was trying to 'save' Him!''That makes me wonder at Hanuman’s devotion as well the power of Rama’s grace. I will need both these aspects to become an Achiever. Thank you so much VR!''Till we meet again Manav. Thanks for using Ramayana Reboot!'
