'I am feeling very guilty, VR!' said Maanav with a sorry face.'What seems to be the cause of your guilt, Maanav?' asked VR.'Well, my cousin was supposed to join me for a movie and I booked the tickets. I was super excited to see this movie. But a few hours before the movie, she messaged me abruptly, saying she couldn't come and asked me to reschedule. She even refused to pick up my calls. I got so mad that I went to see the movie alone. Then she tried calling me back several times that night but I refused to pick up her phone. Then I heard an audio message from her that her best friend’s father had a sudden heart attack and had to be rushed to the hospital. She went with her to help them and so couldn’t join. I feel so bad that I misjudged her so quickly. I know she will be very mad at me for going to the movies without her. I don't know how to make it up to her!''It is indeed an unfortunate series of events, Maanav. Assumptions often lead to misunderstandings and Ramayana has a great example of that,' replied VR..'I knew it would. Do tell me,' quipped Maanav.'Vaali and Sugreeva were very close as brothers. When an asura Maayavi challenged Vaali, he accepted it and quickly overpowered him. However, Mayaavi began to flee and Vaali pursued him with Sugreeva following him. When Mayaavi entered a narrow cave, Vaali went in after him, asking Sugreeva to wait for him outside. For many days, Sugreeva heard sounds of a struggle from within, and finally, he heard a loud scream but could not understand whose voice it was. When he saw blood dripping from the cave’s mouth, he assumed that Vaali had been killed and to prevent Mayaavi from escaping, he placed a huge boulder and blocked the cave entrance. When Sugreeva conveyed the unfortunate news to the citizens of Kishkindha, they mourned together and eventually crowned Sugreeva as the next king.'.'Wait a minute! Wasn’t Vaali killed by Rama? How come he died in a cave?' asked Maanav.'You are right Maanav. It was Mayaavi who had died in the cave and not Vaali. He was injured and exhausted though from the big fight. When he saw the entrance blocked he tried to push it but was unable to. He kept calling out to Sugreeva but got no response. After a long time, when he regained some of his strength he pushed the boulder away and returned to Kishkindha, only to find his brother on the throne! Assuming that Sugreeva has betrayed him for the throne, he attacked him, injured him and chased him out of Kishkindha, while forcefully abducting his wife! Thus, the loving brothers turned into mortal enemies!''Oh boy! If only they talked to each other instead of living in their own assumptions, things could have been so different. But I have got my answer. I should not assume that she is mad at me. I should talk to her and explain the situation from my point of view. Even if she is upset, I think I can find a way to win her over. She is my sister after all. Thanks VR, as always, Ramayana has been a big help!''Happy to be of use, Maanav. Until we meet again, thank you for using Ramayana Reboot!'
