Gorakhnath Singh was born in Dumaria village, Bhojpur district, Bihar, to Hit Narayan Singh and Devmurti Devi. While still in high school, he became involved in the freedom movement, which intensified during his college years. Due to his activism, he was imprisoned in Patna Jail, Ara Jail and the Phulwari Sharif camp jail. Later, he joined the Hindustan Socialist Republican Association. During the Quit India Movement, he escaped from jail but was recaptured and tortured, resulting in tuberculosis. The British released him due to his deteriorating health. Gorakhnath passed away in 1944 at the age of 23-24 while pursuing BSc in Geography at Patna College, leaving behind a legacy of courage and sacrifice.
