Pandit Makhanlal Chaturvedi (1889–1968) was a renowned Hindi poet, journalist, and freedom fighter from Madhya Pradesh, celebrated for his patriotic and lyrical writings. Deeply inspired by India’s struggle for independence, his poetry blended nationalism with spirituality and humanism. His famous poem ‘Pushp ki Abhilasha’ (The Wish of a Flower) reflects his yearning for self-sacrifice in the service of the nation. Chaturvedi edited influential journals like Karmaveer and Prabha, which became voices of resistance against British rule and promoted Hindi as a language of unity.
