A Metaverse is a network of 3D virtual worlds focused on social connection. It is often described as a hypothetical iteration of the Internet as a single, universal virtual world that is facilitated by using virtual and augmented reality headsets. To put it in simple words, imagine a virtual world that has everything that reality offers. You have a job there, you make money (virtual currency), you spend money shopping, your real-world friends meet you in the virtual world and vice versa. You also get to buy homes in the virtual world and sell them later for a profit.
A seamless integration of the virtual and real world would allow people to do jobs in the metaverse and earn real money into their bank accounts. This would mean that we are no longer just working from home but we are working in another world altogether and spending the money earned to buy real world luxuries. Entire cities would need to be developed virtually opening vast opportunities for tech entrepreneurs and existing businesses would have newer channels for selling their products.
